ASSUMPTIONISTS

Assumptionists is congregation within catholic church is active in many countries, it was found by venerable  father Emmanuel d' Alzon in 1845.The congregation was started at  diocese of  Nimes in France, where father Emmanuel d 'Alzon worked as vicar general for many years.
father Emmanuel d 'Alzon was diocesan  priest  but he had a call of being religious, so he decided to entered religious life by founding his own congregation which will be modern but within catholic tradition.
the congregation started in college  at Nimes in France, as  Augustinian of assumption or Assumptionists.
Augustinian de assumptionists consist of priests and brothers.
we live in apostolic life, this means is the life of brotherhood or fraternity, live, work and share things together.

ST JOHN THE BAPTIST DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE

Yesterday  at katua outstation we held  a meeting involve  development committee which is main involve in construction of our church. The meeting was held at fathers' residence which started from 5:00pm up to 9:00. The  main  purpose of the meeting was to give feedback about the previous harambee for funding raising the construction of st john the baptist outstation katua. The meeting involve various member,from the  council of liturgy committee of st John the Baptist  such as the chairman, secretary, chairman of small christian communities, chairman of development committee, treasures, fathers as well as  the postulancy.

Augustinian of  Assumption our charisim is that  we are working for the kingdom of God through communication, ecumenicism, education, publishing. Our motto is THY KINGDOM COME. We are much involve in the following activities: Ecumenism : is the dialogue among christian religion as well as Muslim so as to come together and share our experience, challenge in our activities as well as God is concerned. for we as Augustinian de assumptionists this is area of our concern that why we are working in countries where there is minority of catholic such as: Russia , Bulgaria , Romania, Turkey.
